Companion is a location-aware mobile application platform for companies who want to enhance the visitor experience at specific venues. With advanced mapping and routing services, combined with easy to use content management and social networking channels, Companion helps users to navigate a specific space, indoors and out.
Initially available for iPhone and Android devices, Companion provides:
- Bespoke mapping – Companion can overlay any custom map onto true GIS coordinates to help users navigate your space.
- Visitor routing – assisting users to find specific points of interest from their current location, quickly and simply.
- Location specific “what’s on” guide – interactive programmes and schedules for conferences, events and venues.
- Social networking – dedicated Twitter channel and push communications.
- RSS feeds – for traffic, travel and real time news channels.
- Heat Maps – real-time views of visitor locations and areas of popular activity.
The location-aware functionality of Companion uses a blended positioning technology, based on GPS, GSM Cell positioning, and Wifi triangulation to pinpoint users positions both indoors and out. The combination of advanced positioning with bespoke mapping and location-specific content, all delivered through an intuitive user interface, will revolutionise the way venues interact with their visitors.
Companion is currently being showcased at the NEC to assist visitors to specific events, conferences and trade shows to make the most of their visit to the West Midlands.
