Summer seasoning: Black Pepper talks digital transformation at annual event

Black Pepper has been focusing on the importance of digital transformation all year, and it was great to see the topic front and centre at our recent summer party.

We’re always keen to get our team and customers together, face-to-face – not just to catch up, but to hear directly from company leaders about the challenges and opportunities their businesses are facing.

One of the things that makes Black Pepper so special is the diversity of our customer base. We work with people across different sectors, with different levels of digital transformation maturity. The one thing that shone through at our event is that they all have something in common: every company is striving for innovation and industry excellence.

The subject of excellence was echoed by our guest speaker for the evening, renowned chef, Raymond Blanc. Despite being a self-confessed technophobe in a room full of digital professionals, Chef Blanc provided inspiration by revealing his desire for workforce empowerment – something which is important across all sectors, not just the food industry. Our guests really appreciated his authenticity and passion.

With a company name like Black Pepper, we felt it only fitting that our CEO, John Cooke, presented Raymond with a specially-crafted pepper mill, before guests were invited to carry on their discussions over drinks and canapés.

Not only did this provide us with a fantastic opportunity to catch up with clients informally, but many guests commented on how useful they found meeting other Black Pepper customers – and learning about out how we are supporting their digital strategy with dynamic software development.
