Black Pepper Software was selected to provide a team of architects to work with leading travel brand TUI UK on its e-commerce programme.
The architectural solution provided the framework which enabled TUIs systems to evolve over the years as web-based holiday search and booking became more sophisticated. Components within the architecture were able to change and adapt to the business’s challenges at different paces; some, such as the core bed-bank management systems, remained mostly static; some, such as booking systems, evolved; others, like the consumer facing web-based search site, were re-developed as rapidly evolving web standards and increasingly sophisticated user experience requirements demanded agility in the challenging competitive market. The architecture as a whole remained robust and flexible enough to support this business change and allowed TUI to make significant inroads into the market.
